Personalized Post Game Report Cards Generated from Game Data

HOW IT WORKS

Pelotero Game Reports

Anytime a player logs at-bats for a game with the Pelotero app a personalized post-game report is generated.

Every report features:

  • Composite scores for the game based on pitch recognition, swing decisions, timing, and accuracy

  • At-bat recaps highlighting the best pitches seen vs. the pitches actually put in play

  • In-depth zone breakdowns highlighting whether hitters are swinging at the right pitches at the right times

FAQs

Got Questions? Swing Through Our FAQs for Quick Answers!

How can a player get these game reports?

These reports are available to every Pelotero subscriber. Subscriptions are available exclusively through our partners.

How do players input game data?

Players input at-bat data manually using our Plate Intelligence tool - this exists in the Pelotero iOS app.

Here is a video that demonstrates how the data input works.

How are the approach scores calculated?

Each score is calculated on a scale of 0-100. The higher the score, the better the performance was in that category. Each category reflects how closely the player was to fulfilling ideal outcomes in each category.

Ex. Chasing pitches outside the zone in leverage counts will hurt the Swing Decisions score.

Ex. Missing way under and hitting a pop-up on a fastball down the middle will hurt the accuracy score.

The total scores are a snapshot of performance in that category across every pitch in the game.

Who can access these reports?

Players and parents can access the reports by logging into the athlete's account and accessing their player dashboard.

Coaches and organization heads are also notified when an athlete logs a game and they are able to see the report as well.

Can I customize what’s included in the reports or is it standard?

These reports are standard. However, coaches can leave notes/feedback for athletes with their specific takeaways.

Will these reports show how players are getting better over time?

The reports themselves are just a snapshot of one particular game. However, there is a performance dashboard in Pelotero that will show big picture trends and summarize game data for custom time periods.

How should players/coaches use these reports to help performance during the season?

We recommend players and coaches view the report from each game and jot down their biggest takeaways. Habitual reflection is SO valuable and players that do this will understand their tendencies and be able to make adjustments faster than their peers over the course of time.

Insights from the game data are also baked into custom player programs for the player. So doing the prescribed drills will help address deficiencies.
